Christina Byrd

Ms. Byrd is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor skilled in working with various populations using cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed care, and multicultural counseling. As a counselor Christina believes by supplying clients a safe space to re-attribute meaning to significant events in their life, outlooks can be altered and therapeutic goals can be achieved. This can be challenging work, so Christina strives to be an empathetic and supportive guide as clients develop a deeper awareness of themselves. Christina practices an integrative approach to counseling that makes the process unique to each individual. With undergraduate studies in psychology (Vanderbilt University) and graduate studies in clinical mental health counseling (Oakland University), Christina has worked with adolescents and adults with concerns related to interpersonal relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, and life adjustment issues. She has extensive experience working with young adults and adults who are going through significant life changes or changes in career path. Christina also has expertise working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, career counseling clients, victims and perpetrators of abuse, neglect, and sexual assault, trauma, and psychological assessment and diagnosis.
