Bethany Schindler, MA, LLPC

Ms. Schindler is a Limited License Professional Counselor with certifications in working with underserved populations, trauma- focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and receive specialized training from the National Institute of Trauma and Loss in Children. As a professional counselor, Bethany considers it her calling to assist individuals and families in finding or developing the tools necessary to sort through negative feelings, recover from past hurts, and to live their best lives. With the understanding that our thoughts, words, and actions are all interconnected, and that humans are largely guided by perceptions of oneself, others, and of the community, Bethany practices a holistic approach to growth and healing that focuses on the whole person (mind, body, and spirit). With undergraduate studies in child development (Rochester University) and graduate studies in clinical mental health counseling (University of Detroit Mercy), Bethany works with individuals throughout the lifespan including young children, adolescents, and adults. She has extensive experience working with children and adults who have developmental disabilities as well as severe mental illness including mood and personality disorders. Bethany also has expertise working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, victims and perpetrators of abuse, neglect, and sexual assault, trauma, and psychological assessment and diagnosis.
